Austria 2001 National Support Measure

The programme supports spin-offs from universities, universities of applied sciences and non-university research organisations. Eight AplusB centres are currently operating in Austria and provide awareness raising and stimulation for academic entrepreneurship, consultancy, training and assistance for a duration of 1.5 years. They also facilitate cooperation with financiers and other support structures and programmes. Until mid 2013, 438 spin-offs had been founded, of which 380 now are active on the market without support.

Slovenia 2001 National Support Measure

The measure “Target Research Programmes” (TRPs) represents a system created in 2001 for inter-sectoral cooperation in planning and implementing networked R&D projects for specific areas of public interest. They represent a special form of scientific and research programme with which the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport intends to contribute to setting and implementing strategic development objectives for Slovenia in cooperation with other ministries and other interested users, in order to improve Slovenia's competitive capacity.

Slovenia 1999 National Support Measure

Research Programme (RP) is a scheme that supports long-term basic research. The scheme was introduced in 1999 in since then it has been the largest source of public funding for research. Under the provisions of RP, three to six year contracts are awarded for public funding of basic research in the field of natural sciences, engineering, medical sciences, biotechnology, social sciences and humanities.

The Act provides the legal framework for the organisation and the financing of the Estonian research and development system. It aims to provide the grounds for the organisation of research and development and to ensure the legal means for the preservation and further development of scientific and technological creation as a component of Estonian culture and the Estonian economy. The Act sets the criteria for allocating block funds for RDI institutions.

Germany 1997 National Support Measure

EXIST is a programme of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi) aimed at 1) establishing a lasting culture of entrepreneurship at universities and research establishments, 2) supporting consistent transfer of scientific knowledge into commercial output and 3) increasing the number of technology and knowledge based company formations.
