Hrvatska akademija znanosti i umjetnosti (HAZU)

The membership is composed of full, honorary, corresponding and associate members. Election to the Academy is considered one of the highest honors that can be awarded a scientist or engineer. The main mission of HAZU is to promote culture, the arts, sciences and education, all of which are essential for the cultural, social, economic and political progress of Croatia. Throughout its history, since the mid of the 19th century, the Academy's activity has been closely connected with the development of education and culture in Croatia.

Hrvatska agencija za malo gospodarstvo, inovacije i investicije (HAMAG-BICRO)

The HAMAG-BICRO’s main objective is the creation of a unique system that would provide support to entrepreneurs through all development stages of operation starting from research and development of an idea to commercialisation and placement on the market. The Agency’s activities include: promoting investment; issuing guarantees for bank credits to SMEs; administrating R&I grant schemes; co-financing consultancy services.

Hrvatska zaklada za znanost (CSF)

The Croatian Science Foundation was established in December 200. Its mission is to promote science, higher education and technological development in Croatia in order to ensure the development of economy and to support employment. The Foundation provides support to scientific, higher education and technological programmes and projects, fosters international cooperation, and helps the realisation of scientific programmes of special interest in the fields of fundamental, applied and developmental research.

Ministarstvo gospodarstva

The Ministry of the Economy carries out tasks related (but not limited only) to: the development and competitiveness improvement of the Croatian economy, instruments and measures of the economic policy; industrial policy and innovation and new technologies policy; managing a guarantee fund for the promotion of industry; implementation and use of intellectual and industrial property rights; energy policy; mining; FDI and exports strategy. The Ministry plays an important role in the preparation of the Smart Specialisation Strategy of Croatia.

Ministarstvo poduzetništva i obrta

The Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Crafts of Croatia is in charge of trade and foreign investments; promoting competitiveness of SME and their participation in public procurement and public-private partnerships; promoting international cooperation and other. With the accession of Croatia to the European Union, the Ministry acquired a prominent role in the preparation and implementation of strategic and operational documents and programs for the use of ESI funds and other international financing sources allocated to promote entrepreneurship and innovation.

Ministarstvo regionalnoga razvoja i fondova Europske unije

The Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds is responsible for planning and implementing the regional development policy; improving cross-border, interregional and transnational cooperation and preparation of strategic documents regulating the national development objectives. The Ministry participates in the preparation of priorities and annual and perennial strategic and operational documents for the use of EU funds and other international sources.

Ministarstvo znanosti, obrazovanja i sporta Republike Hrvatske (MZOS)

The Ministry of Science, Education and Sports (MSES) is a pillar institution of the science system in Croatia. It bears responsibility for all the stages of education, research, sports and promotes research-based technology development and communication and information (IT) activities. Its main mission regarding scientific research is to create and implement national scientific research policy as a framework for overall development of science in Croatia. MSES takes decisions on allocation of the State budget resources to national scientific research organisations.

Nacionalno vijeće za znanost, visoko obrazovanje i tehnološki razvoj (NVZVOTR)

The National Council for Science, Higher Education and Technological Development is the highest advisory body for scientific research, higher education and technology in Croatia.

Agencija za mobilnost i programe EU (AMPEU)

AMPEU encourages international mobility in Croatia through the EU mobility programmes for education and youth. It informs the public about the programmes, provides support during mobility, advises potential users, performs the selection of received applications and awards funds for the implementation of selected projects. The Agency also oversees the implementation of projects and monitors the regularity of spending financial resources.

Agencija za znanost i visoko obrazovanje (AZVO)

The Agency for Science and Higher Education (ASHE) is responsible for setting up a national network for quality assurance and evaluation of scientific research and higher education. The Agency performs a part of the procedure of initial accreditation, procedures of reaccreditation, thematic evaluation and audit, collects and processes data on Croatian higher education, science and related systems. These serve as a basis for analyses necessary to establish standards and criteria of evaluations, as well as a basis for informed and evidence-based strategic decision-making.
