The mission of the Council of Rectors of the French Community (CRef) (now Wallonia-Brussels Federation) is to work as an advisory council on matters related to basic research as well as university education at the universities of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation. Education and research count as their first and second mission. Their third activity is service to society, and in particular the economic exploitation of research results.
